BATForce Transition Project (BTP) is built around four flexible streams, allowing schools to engage at the level that best fits their needs.
Schools don’t need to do everything — just start where it makes sense.
Stream 1: 'School Family Connect'
Early Years Transition (Pre-School > Primary Year 2)
What is it: Focused on strengthening school–family partnerships during the earliest transition point.
Best for: Schools wanting to strengthen the transition from pre-school to year 2 and build confident family connections early.
Supports include:
- Parent and carer workshops
- Professional development for staff
- Opportunities to build shared language and resources
- School-based, cluster or regional delivery options
Designed to support schools in building confident, well-supported transitions for parents, carers and children moving from pre-school to primary school.
Stream 2: 'Stronger 6-7'
Primary to Secondary School Transition (Years 6–7)
What is it: This stream supports students, families and staff through one of the most significant schooling transitions – the leap from Primary to Secondary school. This stream offers three flexible levels, allowing schools to choose the support that best fits their needs.
Level 1 – Ready to Launch transition workshops
Best for: Schools supporting students through the primary to secondary transition, who want flexible workshop-based supports.
Options include:
- Ready to Launch whole-year student workshops
- Parent/carer workshops and family packs (young people alongside their families)
- Professional development for school staff
Level 2 - BTP Plus (Targeted School Support)
Best for: Schools wanting deeper, longer-term transition support. Designed for schools with higher or more complex transition needs.
A structured, multi-phase model that can include:
- Whole year-level transition workshops
- Small-group, targeted transition programs
- Parent/carer workshops
- Transition check-ins across the year
Models range from 1 to 3 terms, depending on need and capacity.
Level 3 – Small Schools Transitions
A full-day student program supporting effective transitions across clusters of small schools.
Stream 3: ‘Strengthening Inclusive Practice’
Neuro-Affirming Practice in Schools
What is it: A neuro-affirming project delivered for Department of Education targeted primary schools in partnership with Social Stencil and Melbourne University. This stream supports primary schools to embed neuro-affirming practice across their whole school community — not just in individual classrooms.
Best for: Schools wanting to build a consistent, whole-school approach to supporting diverse learners — including students with autism, ADHD, sensory differences and learning profiles.
Supports include:
- Whole-school professional development in neuro-affirming approaches
- Building shared language and practice across staff teams
- Strategies that benefit all students, not just those with identified needs
- Building school capability to support diverse learners
- Whole of school and small group programs

Stream 4: ‘Digital Tattoo’ and ‘Digital Diversion’
Workshops that support safe, healthy & informed technology use
What is it: Engaging workshops that unpack the digital world as it stands now. The focus in on having real conversations about relationships – not just the technology – for students, families and staff.
Best for: schools looking for practical, engaging workshops focused on online boundaries and digital wellbeing.
Delivered as standalone workshops or alongside transition supports, this stream includes:
- Student workshops (whole year level)
- Parent and carer sessions
- Staff professional development
- Small-group and family packs — young people and their families working through content together
Can be delivered as a one-off session or as part of a broader transition program.
