Stream Overview

BATForce Transition Project (BTP) brings everything together into four clear program streams, allowing schools to engage at the level that best fits their needs.

Stream 1: 'School Family Connect'

Early Years Transition (Pre-School > Primary Year 2)

Focused on strengthening school–family partnerships during the earliest transition point.

Best for: Schools wanting to strengthen the transition from pre-school to year 2 primary and build confident family connections early.

Supports include:

  • Parent and carer workshops
  • Professional development for staff
  • School-based, cluster or regional delivery options

Designed to support schools in building confident, well-supported transitions for parents, carers and children moving from pre-school to primary school.

Stream 2: 'Stronger 6-7'

Primary to Secondary School Transition (Years 6–7)

This stream supports students, families and staff through one of the most significant schooling transitions – the leap from Primary to Secondary school.  This stream offers three flexible levels, allowing schools to choose the support that best fits their needs.

Level 1 – Ready to Launch transition workshops

Best for: Schools supporting students through the primary to secondary transition, who want flexible workshop-based supports.

Options include:

  • Ready to Launch whole-year student workshops
  • Parent/carer workshops and family packs (young people alongside their families)
  • Professional development for school staff

Schools selected by the Department of Education to be part of the ‘BTP Plus’ program will receive student and parent/carer workshops within the program free of charge.

Discounted rates for Barwon Govt schools are available for ‘Ready to Launch’ student and parent/carer workshops while funding lasts. Once funding is exhausted, standard ‘All Other School’ pricing will apply.

Level 2 - BTP Plus (Targeted School Support)

Best for: Schools wanting deeper, longer-term transition support. Designed for schools with higher or more complex transition needs.

A structured, multi-phase model that can include:

  • Whole year-level transition workshops
  • Small-group, targeted transition programs
  • Parent/carer workshops
  • Transition check-ins across the year

Models range from 1 to 3 terms, depending on need and capacity.

Level 3 – Small Schools Transitions

A full-day student program supporting effective transitions across clusters of small schools

Currently fully funded for Polwarth schools. 

All other schools can access this program on a fee-for-service cost of $3500+gst. Please note that this cost excludes venue hire and travel.

Stream 3: ‘Strengthening Inclusive Practice’

Neuro-Affirming Practice in Schools

A neuro-affirming project delivered for Department of Education targeted primary schools in partnership with Social Stencil and Melbourne University.

This stream focuses on:

  • Neuro-affirming approaches
  • Building school capability to support diverse learners
  • Whole of school and small group programs

Available fee-for-service ($12,000+gst) for other schools.

Stream 4: ‘Digital Tattoo’ and ‘Digital Diversion’

Workshops that support healthy technology use

Workshops supporting safe, healthy and informed technology use by engaging young people and their ecosystem around technology use. 

This includes an online, small-group/family workshop that supports students and families to build healthy, balanced technology use when online behaviours begin to impact school engagement and wellbeing.

Includes:

  • Student workshops
  • Parent/carer sessions
  • Staff professional development
  • Small groups and family packs (young people alongside their families)

Delivered as standalone workshops or alongside transition supports.

Discounted rates for Barwon Govt schools are available for ‘Digital’ student and parent/carer workshops while funding lasts. Once funding is exhausted, standard ‘All Other School’ pricing will apply.
