Vaping Prevention Project

Warrnambool City Council

Warrnambool City Council

Warrnambool City Council partnered with Brophy Youth & Family Services and South West Healthcare to deliver a multi-faceted youth engagement and prevention initiative.

What Was Delivered

The Stoked Surf Therapy program supported 31 young people over six weeks, combining mental health education, resilience-building and vaping prevention discussions with surf sessions and shared meals to strengthen connection and wellbeing.

At Emmanuel College, all Year 9 students participated in the Fit4Life program to develop anti-vaping campaign concepts. The winning entry, ‘Break the Habit Before It Breaks You’, was professionally produced in partnership with One Day Studios and will be promoted through cinema advertising, social media and across the Warrnambool region.

The campaign message — highlighting the impact of vaping on sporting performance — informed the design of anti-vaping signage now installed across 13 local sporting facilities, along with bus advertising featuring multiple sports and the tagline: “Don’t let vaping get in your way.”
